Why CrossFit071
HYROX training that fits your level
Coached classes
Every HYROX class is led by a coach who watches your technique, pacing and transitions — not just a workout on a whiteboard.
Included in your membership
HYROX classes are part of your regular CrossFit071 membership. No surcharge and no separate course fee.
All race equipment
Sleds, SkiErgs, rowers, wall balls, sandbags and farmers carry handles: you train every station on the real equipment.
Scalable for every level
Weights, distances and pace are adjusted to you. Suitable whether you are preparing for a race or simply want a bigger engine.

The race
What is HYROX?
HYROX is a fitness race with a fixed format that is the same all over the world: eight times 1 km of running, each followed by one functional workout station. Because the format never changes, you can compare your times and see real progress from race to race.
You can compete solo, as a pair in Doubles or as a team of four in the Relay. That makes HYROX accessible for first-timers and challenging for experienced athletes. In our classes you train running intervals combined with the stations, with a focus on pacing, efficiency and sustainable intensity.
Race format
The 8 HYROX stations
Between every station you run 1 km. We have the equipment for all eight in the box.
1. SkiErg
1,000 m on the SkiErg. We train rhythm and breathing so you start the race in control.
2. Sled push
50 m pushing a loaded sled. Leg drive and body position make the difference.
3. Sled pull
50 m pulling the sled towards you with a rope. We practise technique that saves your grip and lower back.
4. Burpee broad jumps
80 m of burpees with a jump forward. Steady pacing beats sprinting here.
5. Rowing
1,000 m on the rower. Efficient strokes let your legs recover for the next run.
6. Farmers carry
200 m carrying a weight in each hand. Grip strength and posture under fatigue.
7. Sandbag lunges
100 m of walking lunges with a sandbag on your shoulders. Strong legs, late in the race.
8. Wall balls
The finisher: wall balls to a target. We build the capacity to keep moving when it counts.

Your coach
Train with Wessel
Wessel coaches our HYROX classes. He competes in Gymraces himself and coaches members towards their HYROX races, so he knows what race preparation asks of you — physically and mentally. With his background in psychology he helps you pace smart and keep going when it gets tough.
Community
From Leiden to races across Europe
Our members race HYROX events throughout the Netherlands and across Europe — solo, in Doubles and in Relay teams. You do not train alone: you prepare together in class, travel to races together and cheer each other over the finish line. Never raced before? Plenty of members started exactly where you are now.
